To improve Kewa’s health and happiness in Beyond These Stars, begin with the ground under the settlement. Restore fertile, watered, breathable terrain; keep forests functioning; reduce pollution; and avoid leaving Kewa in an uncomfortable hot system longer than necessary. Then support the relationship through considerate dialogue and measured travel plans.
Audit the biome before adding another building
Open the biome and pollution views and inspect the whole settled area, not just the newest factory. Look for dry or bare ground, forest clusters that no longer receive water, pollution that keeps increasing, and toxic areas that interrupt Peep routes. Health is an accumulated condition, so several small damaged zones can matter even when no single alert looks urgent.
Forests are particularly valuable. Watered forests contribute atmosphere, expand breathable land, and absorb nearby pollution. Keep existing trees around early polluters where possible. When industry outgrows natural coverage, prepare the terraforming chain that supplies compost and saplings rather than waiting until the city is boxed inside a shrinking safe zone.
Water
Extend or restore water where it can revive ground and forests without flooding the routes and footprints you still need.
Soil
Use terraforming to turn poor ground toward fertile conditions; account for the debris, compost, and labor created by the work.
Forests
Preserve healthy clusters and plant new coverage at the edge of breathable space or near controlled pollution sources.
Pollution
Watch both the amount and rate. Pause optional industry when cleanup cannot keep the rate from rising.
Separate a health problem from a temperature problem
A declining meter during a long stop in hot space may not be solved by rearranging the city alone. The developer states that temperature can affect both Kewa’s health and Happiness, and a severe drop can trigger emergency travel toward a cooler location. Check the current system before beginning a major construction or outpost project that requires Kewa to wait.
If temperature is the active pressure, finish only the work required for a safe departure and move on. If the meter remains poor in a comfortable location, return to biome condition, pollution, and recent dialogue. This distinction prevents you from clearing useful buildings when the immediate cause is the location rather than the layout.
Plan hot-system visits as errands. Bring needed supplies, scout and collect the intended opportunity, keep the Kewa city stable, and avoid starting a long renovation just before departure. An outpost can continue serving a resource goal later; Kewa’s wellbeing should not depend on completing every local project in one visit.
Make the recovery order efficient
Do not queue a massive landscape job across the entire city. Terraforming uses workers and creates or consumes materials. Restore one connected zone, confirm that the settlement can sustain it, and then continue outward.
Use Kewa’s visible signals
Healthy Kewa can travel more quickly and open more memory conversations. Very high Happiness can produce Kewa fruit trees with benefits for nearby Peeps. Poor health can produce Thorny Stems that affect residents negatively. These are practical signals that the relationship is feeding back into the settlement.
When fruit trees appear, avoid removing them casually for a short layout gain. When Thorny Stems appear, do not treat them as an isolated obstacle; inspect the health meter and the surrounding biome. Clearing a symptom without changing the condition invites another symptom.
Travel behavior is also a signal. A detour to eat tells you Kewa’s Energy needs have overtaken the requested route. Build enough slack into the city that a detour does not leave a fragile production move half-complete.
Protect the story without chasing a magic number
The developer confirms that Kewa’s health influences story progression and its conclusion. That makes care consequential, but it does not make every community-reported threshold permanent. Patches, hidden conditions, and the timing of the final check can change how a numerical target behaves.
Keep a save before irreversible story travel and major conversations. Maintain health throughout the journey rather than attempting a last-minute rescue. Choose dialogue with the relationship you want to build, since positive or hurtful answers can move Happiness. If you want a particular ending, verify the current 1.0 conditions in your own save before entering the final sequence.
