The safest route to the good ending in Beyond These Stars is to restore Kewa’s health before completing the final journey objective. Release-day player testing reports that the ending check is driven by Kewa’s biome condition and toxic damage when the last conversation begins, rather than by one final dialogue choice. Because the developer has not published the exact formula, treat any numerical cutoff as community evidence that must be rechecked after patches.
Build health throughout the story
Kewa and the Peeps live in symbiosis. Terraforming raises and lowers land, extends waterways, creates fertile ground, and plants forests. These actions expand the settlement while also improving Kewa’s biome. Pollution works in the opposite direction: active industry can damage Kewa, lower happiness, and eventually create toxic areas.
Do not leave all restoration for the finale. Preserve forests near early polluters, supply Cleaners, and prevent by-products from stopping environmental services. Use the health display as a trend: after a new industrial chain begins, confirm the harmful portion is not growing faster than biome improvements.
Kewa’s health, happiness, food, temperature, and travel Energy are related but distinct. A feeding detour can restore Energy without removing toxic land. A cold system can ease temperature pressure without improving the city biome. For the ending route, prioritize the health components visible on Kewa.
Prepare before the final commitment
The independent launch guide used for this route reports a late sequence involving Stardust research, a Disinfector, Chorus Aerial research, four Chorus Aerials on settled planets, and an Enter the Black Hole objective. The reported ending conversation begins when that final objective completes. Names and sequence should be verified in your live objective list because hotfixes may change requirements.
Save
Create a manual save before completing the final travel objective so you can recover from an early commitment or post-patch behavior change.
Biome
Use waterways, fertile ground, and forests to push the positive health trend as far as your current tools allow.
Toxic areas
Clean existing toxic tiles and stop nearby pollution clusters from recreating them.
Logistics
Stock chemicals, protective supplies, power inputs, and storage before pausing the finale for cleanup.
There is no advantage in rushing the final command while the health display is still visibly damaged. Hold at the last safe objective, repair Kewa, and only continue after the indicators stabilize.
Remove damage, then prevent recurrence
Start with active toxic areas because they represent accumulated harm rather than a temporary puff of pollution. Use the cleanup tools your technology tree has unlocked and keep their workers supplied. Then isolate the sources: pause heavy producers, clear blocked outputs, supply Cleaners, and add forests where they can suppress pollution without blocking roads or Power Lines.
Terraform with a plan. The Landscaper can reshape land and waterways, apply Compost for fertile ground, and use Saplings from the Tree Nursery to establish Forest. Those tasks consume labor and materials, so build storage headroom before issuing a large batch. If the Landscaper fills with Debris, digging stops until the material moves or is reused.
Watch the next several production cycles after cleanup. A temporarily green map is not enough if the generator, smelter, or hazardous chain immediately rebuilds the same pollution cluster.
How much health is enough?
The current independent test report says above 85% health guarantees its observed good-ending outcome and connects the check to positive biome improvement and toxic-area damage. This is useful as a conservative target, but it is not an official published formula. UI calculation, patch balance, or hidden conditions may differ in your build.
Use three safeguards:
- Aim comfortably above the reported threshold rather than stopping exactly on it.
- Remove visible toxic areas and keep pollution controlled, even if the total appears sufficient.
- Preserve a pre-finale save and confirm the current build after any update.
Dialogue should still be read for story context, but do not rely on a last-minute conversation choice to repair a neglected biome. The dependable work happens before the final trigger.
If you receive the other ending
Reload the manual save and compare Kewa’s health components, not only happiness or Energy. Clean remaining toxic tiles, expand sustainable forest and fertile ground, and pause the worst polluters. Let the indicators update before completing the objective again. If an outcome still conflicts with the launch report, check current official patch notes—the evidence on this page is explicitly version-bound.
